Dr. Michael McKay is a general dentist. He treats people of all ages, and practices all facets of dentistry:

We have made substantial investments in the latest technology in order to bring you the most pain-free dentistry that modern science has to offer.
We have a Waterlase unit, which puts out a laser-excited high pressure fine stream of water, which Dr. McKay can use to cut teeth or gum tissue. Very often, novacaine (the needle) is not needed.
We also have a have a KCP "Whisper Jet" air abrasion unit, which removes tooth decay with a fine stream of abrasive powder. The air abrasion method of decay removal does not leave microfactures in the tooth like a conventional burr, or drill, does. The air abrasion method causes patients less discomfort, and is almost always used without novacaine.

Our hygienists remove plaque, calculus, and stains from above and below the gumline to fight decay and periodontal disease. They apply fluoride treatments and sealants to fight decay. If you have periodontal disease, they can treat it by scaling and smoothing the roots of your teeth (almost always numbed with novacaine first) and by applying medications into your gums. They make custom-fitted trays for home whitening, and can advise you on a wide array of dental topics.
